💻 What It’s Really Like to Work as a Cam Model An Interview with -AngelAri- from StripChat

When you think of camming, you might imagine flashing lights and quick money but for many performers, it’s much more personal. We sat down with -AngelAri- , a full-time cam model based in London, to talk about what inspired her to start, how she manages her day, and what she wishes people really knew about her work.

What actually is camming, and how did you get into it?

A friend of mine worked part-time as a cam model and kept telling me how great the income was. It still took me about six months to say yes.
At first, I was nervous that my family might find out but once I started, I never looked back. It’s been one of the best choices I’ve made.

Do you cam full-time?

Technically, yes though I make the same amount of money as a regular full-time job in much less time. So it feels more like flexible part-time hours with full-time pay.

What does your day usually look like?

I’m a huge believer in “the early bird catches the worm.”
I go live around 5 a.m. and usually finish by 10 a.m. After that, I hit the gym, have lunch, and enjoy my day. It gives me structure and time for myself the balance is everything.

Are you yourself on cam, or do you play a character?

It depends on who’s watching. Some people like a bit of fantasy, others just want a real chat.
But I’ve found that being myself works best. Viewers connect more deeply when they feel I’m genuine it makes everything more natural and fun.

Do your family and friends know about your job?

My family is quite religious and traditional, so I haven’t told them and probably won’t.
A few close friends know, though, and they love hearing my stories. Every day in this job is different, so there’s always something wild or funny to talk about!

Do you deal with much stigma as a cam model?

Not as much as people think. Since my family doesn’t know, that’s one less stress.
Most people I meet are actually curious rather than judgmental. I’ve had great conversations about what I do and I think being open about it helps people understand that camming isn’t as taboo as it’s made out to be.

Did you have to go through training to start camming?

Not really. There’s a bit to learn about how each site works and how to build your profile, but the most important thing is being authentic.
The models who do best are the ones who connect genuinely with their audience. You can’t fake that.

Are you your own boss? How does that feel?

Yes, completely and it’s the best feeling.
I choose my hours, my content, who I talk to, and how I work. I’m responsible for my own success, and that’s empowering. I don’t answer to anyone but myself.

Why do you think camming has become so popular?

For viewers, it’s about connection and real-time interaction. You can talk to someone live, from anywhere, and it feels personal.
For models, it’s a chance to take control of your career and income no long commutes, no strict schedules, just independence. You can make a real living doing what you enjoy.

Is it hard to have a partner while camming?

It depends on the relationship. My partner has always been supportive he knows what it means for me and respects it.
Of course, jealousy can come up for some people, especially at first, but open communication makes a huge difference.

Do you feel camming is a safer option than other adult work?

Definitely. You’re working from your own space, in control of your privacy, your limits, and your environment.
It’s important to have a good support network too people you can talk to if something feels off. That support keeps me grounded and safe.

What do you want people to know about being a cam model?

That it’s empowering. I own my time, my choices, and my income.
Since starting, my confidence has grown so much, and my anxiety has dropped. I only do what I enjoy, I feel safe, and I have fun what more could I want?
